Bicol interpreting services
Tell us the speaker's home province when you book. Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Catanduanes and Masbate do not all speak alike, and an interpreter who shares the speaker's variety makes a long session easier on both of them. Bikolanos are used to adapting to Tagalog speakers, and some will say politely that Tagalog is fine when they would really rather use Bikol, so it is worth asking the question directly and in private.
For a medical history, a witness statement or a benefits interview, consecutive interpreting works best. A short follow-up can be done remotely without any loss.
Face-to-face interpreting
The interpreter comes to you: a hospital ward, a courtroom, a council office, a home visit or a business meeting. It is the best choice when people need to read expressions as well as words, or when the conversation is long or sensitive.
Telephone interpreting
The quickest option to set up. It works well for short calls, triage, appointment reminders and quick checks with a client.
Video interpreting
A Bicol interpreter joins by video for remote hearings, consultations and meetings, which helps when there is no interpreter near you.
We also provide medical interpreting and conference interpreting.
Certified Bicol translation
Official records from the Bicol Region come in English or Filipino, so translation from Bikol itself usually means private material: handwritten letters, text messages, a statement from a relative in the province, posts that have become evidence in a dispute. Informal written Bikol has no settled spelling and writers mix in Tagalog and English, so our translators read it for context rather than word by word.
Each translator works into their native language. Where a Filipino-language certificate or affidavit needs to go to a UK solicitor, bank or the Home Office, we provide a certified English translation of it too.
- Certified translation of birth, marriage and death certificates, passports, driving licences, degree certificates and bank statements, for the Home Office, courts, universities and employers.
- Legal translation: witness statements, court bundles, contracts and immigration papers.
- Document translation of medical reports, letters, leaflets and patient information.
- Urgent translation when a deadline is close.
- Transcription of Bicol audio and video recordings, with an English translation if you need one.
English to Bicol translation
When a UK organisation wants to reach Bikol speakers in writing, Filipino will usually do the job better than Bikol, and English often does it better still. If you want Bikol for warmth, say for a community event or a recorded message for older people, we write in Central Bikol, the variety listeners from other parts of the region are most likely to follow, and keep sentences short enough to read aloud.
Bicol court and police interpreters
Bicol interpreting in British courts and police stations is infrequent, so it needs planning. Tell the court or the solicitor's office the speaker's variety early, since an interpreter from Naga and a witness from Iriga may need a few minutes to tune in to each other. What we look for is a Bicol interpreter with experience of legal work, plus the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (Law) or NRPSI registration where any Bicol interpreter holds them; for some varieties there may be none.
How to book a Bicol interpreter
- Tell us about the assignment: the date, time and address, or that you need telephone or video; how long it should last; and what it is for, such as a hospital appointment, a hearing or a business meeting.
- Tell us about the speaker: their country or region and, if you know it, their dialect. Mention any preference for a male or female interpreter.
- Get your quote. We email you a quote, with no obligation to book.

Bicol interpreter and translator FAQs
How quickly can I book a Bicol interpreter?
We take bookings 24 hours a day, every day of the year. Telephone and video interpreting are usually the quickest to arrange. For a face-to-face appointment, give us as much notice as you can: same-day cover is often possible, but it depends on where you are and how many Bicol interpreters work nearby.
How much does a Bicol interpreter cost?
The price depends on the type of interpreting (face-to-face, telephone or video), how long the appointment lasts, where it is and how much notice you give. We quote before anything is booked, and quotes are free: call 0800 2425 125 or use our online quote form.
Can you certify Bicol translations for a UK visa or immigration application?
Yes. We translate and certify documents such as birth and marriage certificates, passports and police certificates for visa, settlement and citizenship applications. UK Visas and Immigration asks for each translation to confirm that it is accurate and to show the date and the translator's full name, signature and contact details, so tell us when you order that the document is for an immigration application.
Do you provide Bicol interpreters for courts, tribunals and police interviews?
Yes. Tell us the setting when you book, for example a Crown Court trial, an immigration tribunal hearing or a police interview under caution, so we can match a Bicol interpreter with the right legal experience and qualifications.
