Helping clients quickly and efficiently with brochure localization has been key to our success.

Brochure localization

Brochure translation and localization, delivered ready to print

A brochure has a few seconds to earn a second look, and a clumsy translation wastes them. A brochure is a highly effective way to promote your product or service and encourage prospects to learn more about your business, and we specialize in brochure localization: your message and branding come across as clearly in the new language as they do in English, and the finished file comes back laid out and ready to print.

If you want to expand into foreign markets, your brochure content must be translated effectively so that your message and branding come across clearly to your target audience. We translate brochures in more than 350 languages, working with highly qualified and experienced translation specialists, and helping clients quickly and efficiently with brochure localization has been key to our success.

What we translate

  • Product brochures and catalogues
  • Manuals and user guides
  • Leaflets and flyers
  • Booklets
  • Advertising brochures
  • Instruction books
  • Price lists and specification sheets
  • Exhibition and trade fair material

Send the design files, not just the words

Working from the original design files means the translation goes straight into your layout. Send the InDesign package with its fonts and links, the Illustrator files, or a print-ready PDF if that is all you have. We adjust the design where the new language needs it and send back print-ready PDFs along with the open files, so your printer or your designer can take it from there.

Length. German, French and Spanish usually need more space than English. Either the layout has room for it or the type gets smaller, and that should be a designer's decision, not an accident.

Fonts. Your brand font may have no Cyrillic, Greek, Arabic or Chinese characters. Choose a matching font for those languages before the layout starts.

Right-to-left. Arabic, Hebrew, Urdu and Farsi read from right to left, so the whole layout mirrors, including the page order of a booklet.

Text in images. Words inside a photo or a chart can only be translated from the original artwork, so send it with the files.

Local details

A brochure for another market needs more than new words. Paper sizes differ: A4 in the UK and Europe, US Letter in North America. Units, currencies, phone numbers, addresses and date formats all need converting. A photograph that works at home can jar elsewhere. And product safety information, regulatory marks and small print must be in the local language wherever the product is sold.

Checking the final proof

Before anything goes to print, a native speaker checks the laid-out proof, not just the translated text. That is where the last problems hide: a line broken in the wrong place, a bad hyphenation, a missing accent, a caption under the wrong picture. We always make sure our brochure localization for business clients meets the highest standard in our industry.

Languages

We translate brochures in more than 350 languages, including French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Urdu.

Questions about brochure localization

Can you work from a PDF if we do not have the design files?

Yes, but working from the design files is quicker and gives a cleaner result. Ask your designer or agency for the package before you send the job.

Do you translate public information leaflets?

Yes. Councils, NHS services and charities often need leaflets in several community languages; see our government and healthcare pages.

How long does it take?

It depends on the length, the number of languages and the layout work involved. You get a delivery date with the quote, and we work quickly and efficiently to meet print deadlines. For the wider picture, see our localization services and business sector pages.
